Rare Silk was an American vocal jazz group formed in 1978 in Boulder, Colorado.
The group consisted of Gaile Gillaspie, MaryLynn Gillaspie, Marguerite
Juenemann, and Todd Buffa. The Gillaspie sisters and Juenemann met while working
as waitresses in Boulder. Their early performances included singing on a local
radio station and at clubs, sometimes dressed like the Andrews Sisters. In 1980,
Rare Silk gained significant exposure as the opening act for Benny Goodman at
