Rahimah Gerl Rahim, born on 9 December 1955 in Singapore, is a Singaporean-Malay
singer whose early exposure to music began with performances alongside her
father on television and in nightclubs, and a first acting role at six in Korban
Kasih. Her breakthrough recordings began with the 1972 recording Mana Ibumu,
establishing her presence in the music scene. In 1974 she won the top prize at
the Kimi Koso Talentime in Japan, which led to representation of Singapore
Broadcasting Corporation at the ASEAN Song Festival and the Golden Bell Awards
