Rachelle Garniez, born on March 7, 1965, is an American multi-instrumentalist,
singer-songwriter, and performance artist from New York. She began playing music
intuitively, encouraged by her mother, Nancy Garniez. At age 17, she traveled to
Europe, performing primarily in Italy and southern Spain as a street musician
with her guitar. Upon returning to New York, she switched to the accordion,
playing in subway stations and streets. She formed The Fortunate Few in 1997,
