R.O.E. is the stage name of Roosevelt Sledge, Jr., an American rapper and singer
from the West Side of Chicago who was born in 1987. His moniker is an acronym
for “Rising Over Envy” and is pronounced as “roe”. He began his career in the
independent hip hop scene in the late 2000s and gained early attention with the
EP A Backpacker Named R.O.E. (2011). Sledge moved to New York City in 2016 to
expand his career while continuing to release music through his label, Sledge
Enterprises. His discography includes several EPs and the studio albums Money in
Motion (2021), Can't Stop Loving...
