Queen Esther Marrow
Queen Esther Marrow, born on 12 February 1941 in Newport News, Virginia, is an
American soul and gospel singer. Her vocal talent was discovered at age 22 when
Duke Ellington invited her to join the Sacred Concert world tour, marking her
professional debut. Marrow released her debut album Newport News, Virginia in
1969, followed by Sister Woman in 1972, and collaborated with musicians such as
Lena Horne, Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles, and Bob Dylan. She appeared on
