Prince Far I
Prince Far I, born Michael James Williams on March 23, 1945, in Spanish Town,
Jamaica, was a Jamaican reggae deejay, producer, and Rastafarian. Renowned for
his deep bass voice and socially conscious lyrics, he described himself as a
"chanter" rather than a toaster and became known as "The Voice of Thunder."
After early recordings under the name King Cry Cry, he adopted the name Prince
Far I and released acclaimed albums including Psalms for I (1976), Under Heavy
Manners (1977), and the Cry Tuff Dub Encounter series. He also collaborated with
