Lawrence Lee Thomas, known professionally as Pooh‑Man, was born on 25 January
1969 in Oakland, California, and emerged as an American rapper. He first gained
attention in the early 1990s with the single “Sex, Money, and Murder”, featured
on the Juice soundtrack, and soon signed to Jive Records. His breakthrough
album, Funky as I Wanna Be (1993), included collaborations with MC Breed, Too
Short, and Ant Banks, and peaked at number 158 on the Billboard Top 200.
