Plus One was formed in 1999 in Sacramento, California, by Nate Cole, Jason
Perry, Jeremy Mhire, Nathan Walters, and Gabe Combs, all members of the Assembly
of God Church. The group debuted with the single "Last Flight Out" in 2000,
followed by the gold‑certified album The Promise released on 23 May 2000, which
produced two Number one Christian radio hits, "Written on My Heart" and "God Is
