Pierre Jules Émile Gérard Spiers, known as Pierre Spiers, was born on October
17, 1917 in Boulogne-sur-Mer, France. He began his career as a harpist at the
Opéra de Paris after graduating from the Conservatoire de Paris with first
prize. In the 1950s, Spiers gained recognition as part of a jazz trio signed to
Vega Records, releasing albums such as Un Trio Célèbre, Un Septuor Charmant
(1956), Le Trio… (1957), and Encore! Encore! (1958). He served as the conductor
