William Lee Perryman, known as Piano Red, and born on October 19, 1911, in Hampton, Georgia, was an American blues musician. A self-taught pianist, he played barrelhouse blues and was credited as one of the first blues musicians to hit pop music charts. He began playing in the early 1930s at house parties and juke joints across several states. In 1950, he recorded "Rockin' With Red" and "Red's Boogie", which reached number 5 and 3 on the Billboard R&B chart.
