Philip Martin, born on October 27, 1947, in Dublin, was an Irish pianist, music
teacher, and composer. He began his musical education at the Royal Academy of
Music under Mabel Swainson and Franz Reizenstein, continuing with Lennox
Berkeley, Richard Rodney Bennett, Louis Kentner, and Yvonne Lefébure. Martin's
career took off as he taught at the Birmingham Conservatoire. His compositions
