Phil Campbell
Philip Anthony Campbell, born 7 May 1961 in Pontypridd, Wales, was a Welsh
guitarist, songwriter and singer whose career spanned over three decades. He
began playing guitar at age ten, later performing semi‑professionally with
Contrast and Roktopus, before forming the heavy‑metal outfit Persian Risk, which
issued singles such as "Calling for You" in 1981. In 1984, Campbell was
recruited by Motörhead, joining after the departure of Brian Robertson; he
remained the band’s guitarist until their disbandment in 2015 following the
