Petr Muk, born on February 4, 1965 in Český Krumlov, Czechoslovakia, was a pop
musician, composer, and performer. He began performing at fifteen with
underground punk bands including Dural and Gas. In 1985, he formed the synth-pop
group Oceán, which gained popularity in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Oceán
supported the band and their influence Erasure on their UK tour between 1989 and
1990. He then founded the synth-pop group Shalom, which was active from 1992 to
