Peter Van Heyghen, a Belgian recorder player and conductor, was born in Bruges
in 1963. He studied recorder and singing at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in
Ghent. Van Heyghen became known for his expertise in Renaissance and Baroque
music interpretation. His career began with solo performances and collaborations
with ensembles such as More Maiorum and Mezzaluna, which he founded. As a
conductor, he led Les Muffatti from 2004 to 2014 and directed various baroque
