Pete Jolly
Pete Jolly, born Peter A. Ceragioli Jr., was an American jazz pianist and
accordionist born on June 5, 1932 in New Haven, Connecticut. He began playing
the accordion at age three and appeared on radio programs by seven. In 1952, he
moved to Los Angeles, collaborating with prominent West Coast jazz musician
Shorty Rogers. Jolly's composition "Little Bird" earned him a Grammy nomination
in 1963. He formed the Pete Jolly Trio in 1964. He also released several albums
including Too Much, Baby! (1965) and Give a Damn (1969). Jolly additionally
