Pentatonix, an American a cappella group, originated in Arlington, Texas. The
band was formed in 2011 by Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, and Kirstin Maldonado,
who initially gained attention through their participation in the third season
of The Sing-Off on NBC. Their breakthrough came when they won the competition,
securing $200,000 and a recording contract with Sony Music. Following their
victory, Pentatonix released their debut EP, PTX Vol. 1, in June 2012, which
