Pekka Taneli Kuusisto, born 7 October 1976 in Helsinki, Espoo, is a Finnish
violinist, composer, and viola player who began violin studies at age three
under Geza Szilvay. He won the International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition in
1995, becoming the first Finnish to claim the title. His debut album, Vivaldi's
The Four Seasons, was released in 1999, followed by Music! in 2002, Summer
Thoughts: Works for Violin and Piano in 2011 and the collaboration Kiestinki in
