Peggy King, born on February 16, 1930, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, is an
American jazz singer and actress. She began her career as a member of big bands
led by Charlie Spivak, Ralph Flanagan, and Ray Anthony. In 1952, King signed
with MGM Records, which led to a singing cameo in the film The Bad and the
Beautiful and a series of commercial jingles for Hunt's tomato sauce. This
brought her to the attention of Mitch Miller at Columbia Records, who signed her
