Paul Haig, born Paul on September 4, 1960, in Edinburgh, Scotland, was a
Scottish indie musician, singer, and songwriter. His early musical influences
included The Beatles, David Bowie, and the Velvet Underground. Haig's first
band, Josef K, formed in 1979 with schoolmates Malcolm Ross and Ronnie Torrance.
The post-punk band released five singles between 1979 and 1981 and an album, The
Only Fun in Town, before disbanding in August 1981 due to internal disagreements
