Patrick J. Alger, also known as Patrick Alger, born on September 23, 1947, in
LaGrange, Georgia, is an American country music songwriter, singer, and
guitarist. He started as a solo folk performer before moving to Woodstock, New
York, in 1973. His breakthrough came in 1980 when Livingston Taylor had a hit
with "First Time Love". The following year, Alger moved to Nashville and began
collaborating with notable artists. He toured extensively with The Everly
Brothers from 1984 to 1988. Alger's songs have been recorded by diverse artists,
