Pankaj Kumar Mullick, born on 10 May 1905 in Calcutta, Bengal Presidency, British India, was an Indian composer, playback singer and actor whose career helped launch playback singing in Bengali and Hindi cinema. He began training in classical music under Durgadas Bandyopadhyaya and made his first commercial recording of Rabindra Sangeet "Nemecche Aaj Prothom Badal" with the Videophone Company in 1926.
