P-Funk All Stars
George Clinton (born July 22, 1941) is an American funk musician and record
producer who led the Parliament-Funkadelic collective. The group’s origins date
to 1956 with the formation of the doo-wop group the Parliaments in Newark, New
Jersey. The Parliaments achieved a hit single in 1967 with “(I Wanna) Testify”.
After moving to Detroit, Clinton signed the raw funk project Funkadelic to
Westbound Records and released the debut album Funkadelic (1970). That same
year, the smoother funk group Parliament released the album Osmium. In 1974,
Clinton signed Parliament to Casablanca Rec...
