Prathivadhi Bhayankara Sreenivas, born September 22, 1930 in Kakinada, East
Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, was an Indian playback singer and harmonium
player who performed in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi cinema. He
entered the film industry in 1951, and his breakthrough came when he sang the
duet “Huye Hum Jinke Liye Barbad” (1951) for the film Deedar (1951). He became a
prominent playback voice in South Indian cinema, famously recording numerous
