Ovidiu Cernăuțeanu, known professionally as Ovi, was born on August 23, 1974, in
Botoșani, Romania. He is a singer who gained early recognition by winning the
Romanian singing competition Florile Dragostei at the age of 14. In his teens
and early twenties, Cernăuțeanu performed with various bands, including
collaborations with his father and former music teacher. His international
journey began in the late 1980s when he traveled to Japan and later Norway,
where he adopted the stage name Bill Martin and worked as a pianist in bars.
