Ovall
Ovall, a Japanese jazz‑influenced band formed in Tokyo, was spearheaded by
bassist and producer Shingo Suzuki, drummer Mabanua, and jazz guitarist Shingo
Sekiguchi, all of whom had previously worked as track‑makers and producers. The
trio began performing under the name Ovall after Suzuki’s earlier project of the
same name, which had toured France before returning to Japan. The group made its
CD debut in March 2010 with the album Don’t Care Who Knows That, preceded by a
performance at the 2009 Asagiri JAM festival; this marked their entry into the
