Osvaldo Nicolás Fresedo was an Argentine tango composer, conductor, and bandoneonist born on May 5, 1897, in Buenos Aires. Known by the nickname “El Pibe de La Paternal”, he began his career playing bandoneon in Guardia Vieja orchestras during his adolescence. In 1920, Fresedo recorded in Camden, New Jersey, before forming his own orchestra upon returning to Argentina. He composed works including “El espiante”, “Vida mía”, “El once”, and “Pimienta”.
