Oscar Levant, born on December 27, 1906, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was an
American pianist, composer, and conductor. He studied under Zygmunt Stojowski
and debuted in Ben Bernie and All the Lads (1924). Moving to Hollywood in 1928,
Levant composed music for over 20 films between 1929 and 1948, notably "Blame It
on My Youth" (1934), and studied under Arnold Schoenberg. He was also a panelist
on the radio show Information Please and appeared in films like Rhapsody in Blue
