Os Originais Do Samba

Os Originais do Samba is a Brazilian samba group formed in 1960. Originally known as Os Sete Modernos do Samba, the group began using their current name in 1961. They accompanied Elis Regina for the winning song "Lapinha" (1968) at the I Bienal do Samba. Their debut album, Os Originais do Samba (1969), included the hit single "Cadê Tereza?". During the 1970s, they had success with songs including "Do Lado Direito da Rua Direita" (1972) and "Tragédia no Fundo do Mar (Assassinato do Camarão)" (1974).
