Jimmy Ellis, known professionally as Orion, was born on 26 February 1945 in
Orrville, Alabama, United States of America, and pursued a career as a singer
within the rock’n’roll genre. After early influences from country artists such
as Marty Robbins and Eddy Arnold, Ellis recorded his first single "Don’t Count
Your Chickens" in 1964 with Dradco and later released "I Don’t Mind" for
Atlantic Records in 1968, establishing his presence in the American music scene.
