and DJ. He began his career in the 1980s as a prominent figure in acid-techno
and breakbeat psychédélique, working under various aliases such as Hard Hop
Heathen and Liquid Metal. His early work included mixing and editing for artists
like Debbie Harry and Dynamix II. Santana's breakthrough came with hits like
"Mr. Dynomite" under the name Liquid Metal and "Slamma Jamma" under The New York
