Omar Alfanno
Omar Enrique Alfanno Velázquez, born 4 January 1957 in Santiago, Panama, is a
Panamanian singer-songwriter. After completing dental studies at the Universidad
Autónoma de México, he released his first composition "Quiero" in 1973, which
attracted early attention from Latin artists. In 1987, he issued the album Cosas
de Barrio, followed by the album Joe de Barrio in 1989. Signing with CBS in
1991, he released the album En Torno al Amor. Over the next decades, his catalog
was recorded by singers including Tony Vega, Luis Enrique, and Victor Manuelle.
