Oliver Darley, born in England, emerged as a singer and actor after training at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company. His breakthrough came in 2001 with the release of his debut album Introducing, produced by Arif Mardin and featuring the rhythm section of Aretha Franklin, including Bernard Purdie, Cornell Dupree, and David “Fathead” Newman, as well as The Impressions and Jools Holland.
