Olga Román, born on January 16, 1959 in Madrid, Spain, is a singer-songwriter
known for her work across jazz, pop, Latin American music, and Argentine
folklore. She studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, graduating
summa cum laude in December 1987 with a Fulbright scholarship. In 1988, she
formed the Olga Román Quartet, performing at various jazz festivals including
Montreal, Quebec, and Newport. Her breakthrough came when she was nominated for
