Olav Stedje, born Olav Stedje on June 8, 1953, in Sogndal, Norway, is a
Norwegian singer-songwriter. He began his musical journey as a solo singer with
the local band Compact in the early 1970s, releasing two singles. His
breakthrough came with the album Ta meg med in 1981, which earned him a
Spellemannpris award in 1982. Stedje continued to release albums throughout the
1980s and 1990s, including Stedje, Tredje Stedje, Rocken Bom, and Når sola renn.
In addition to his solo work, he participated in Melodi Grand Prix three times.
