Of Montreal was formed in 1996 in Athens, Georgia. The band released
experimental singles “She’s a Rejecter” and “Everything About Her Is Wrong”,
establishing a quirky sonic identity blending pop hooks with psychedelic
flourishes. Their first major release, the Cherry Peel EP (1997), introduced
whimsical storytelling, followed by the The Bedside Drama: A Petite Tragedy
(1998). Subsequent albums-The Gay Parade (1999), Coquelicot Asleep in the
