Nobuko Yamada, known professionally as Nokko, was born on 4 November 1963 in
Urawa, Saitama, Japan. She began her music career as a singer and gained
prominence as the lead vocalist of the popular band Rebecca in the 1980s. In
1992, Nokko embarked on a solo career with the release of her debut album
Hallelujah. Her subsequent albums, including I Will Catch U. (1993), Call Me
Nightlife (1993), and Colored (1994), featured notable singles such as "Ningyo"
(Mermaid), which served as the theme song for the 1994 drama Toki o Kakeru
