Nicole Vergel De Dios, known professionally as Niko, was born in Seattle, Washington. She is an American musician and singer. Niko completed a Jazz and Contemporary Music Degree from the New School University in New York City before signing to Grand Central Records in 2002. Her debut album, Life On Earth, was released in 2004, produced by Aim (Andy Turner), Mr. Scruff, and Riton. Niko co-founded ATIC Records in 2005 with Aim and contributed vocals to several tracks on his 2006 album Flight 602.
