Nickelback
Based in Vancouver, Nickelback are one of Canada's biggest success stories, with
over 30 million record sales around the world; in the US, they are second only
to The Beatles in sales through the 2000s. Bass player Mike Kroeger once worked
in a well known coffee shop and often spoke the phrase "Here's your nickel back"
while serving customers and he and his brother Chad adopted the phrase as the
name for their band.
