José de Paula Neto, known as Netinho de Paula, was born on July 11, 1970, in São
Paulo, Brazil. He started his musical career in 1986 with the pagode group
Negritude Júnior, achieving national recognition during the 1990s with hits like
"Cohab City" and "Tanajura." In 2001, Netinho de Paula left the group for a solo
career, releasing albums such as Coração Aberto (2002) and Sou Eu (2002). He
also hosted various TV shows from the late 1990s. In 2008, he was elected as a
city councilor for São Paulo representing the Communist Party of Brazil (PCdoB),
securing 84,406 votes.
