Nelson Angelo Cavalcanti Martins, known as Nelson Angelo, was born on June 15,
1949, in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. He is a Brazilian
singer-songwriter, arranger, and music producer who has experimented with
various traditional Brazilian music styles often linked to the country's folk
dances. His early work includes composing "Zozoï" for France Gall in 1970, with
lyrics by Robert Gall, which was initially overlooked but later recognized as an
