Nelly Pouget, born on May 19, 1955, in Dijon, France, is a saxophonist and
composer known for her work in contemporary jazz and improvised music. She began
attending the conservatory in Dijon at age 13, and specifically chose to study
the saxophone at age 14 under Jean-Marie Londeix. Pouget's first significant
step was directing and recording her debut album Le Dire with drummer Sunny
Murray in 1991. Throughout her career, Pouget collaborated with notable figures
