Terumi Yamada, known professionally as Natsuko Godai, was born on 18 December
1961 in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. She is a singer specialising in enka and
kayōkyoku music. Her early career began under various aliases, including Hiromi
Hoshi, with the debut single "Koi no Ienakiko" released by New Century Records
in 1982. In April 1985, she recorded under the name Yuki Kagawa for the song
"Yoake Made Yokohama". In 1986, under her real name Terumi Nakagawa, she
released "Yume Kizuna". The following year, she adopted the stage name Natsuko
