Murray McLauchlan
Murray Edward McLauchlan, also known as Murray McLauchlan, was born on June 30,
1948, in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland, and immigrated to Canada at age five.
He is a Canadian singer, songwriter, guitarist, pianist, and harmonica player.
He began performing at Toronto coffeehouses by 17. He moved to New York City in
the 1960s, but had little success in promoting his musical career there. He
returned to Toronto and signed with True North Records in 1970, releasing his
album Songs from the Street in 1971. His breakthrough came with "The Farmer's
Song" (1973), which won a Juno Awar...
