Born in Brooklyn (New York, USA) in 1938, Mort Shuman died in London on November 2, 1991, following liver surgery, after having composed - with or without his writing partner Doc Pomus - a multitude of rock classics for Dion, The Drifters or Elvis Presley, then The Hollies,The Small Faces or Janis Joplin.
