Mort Garson
Morton Sanford Garson, born 20 July 1924 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada,
was a composer, arranger, and pioneer of electronic music. After studying at
Juilliard, he worked as a session pianist and arranger, co‑writing hits such as
"Our Day Will Come" (1963) for Ruby & the Romantics. In 1967, he met Robert Moog
and released The Zodiac: Cosmic Sounds, the first album recorded on the West
Coast Moog to feature the Moog synthesizer. In 1976, he issued Mother Earth's
Plantasia, a Moog‑based ambient collection intended for plants, which later
