A yé-yé idol and interpreter of the A.S. Saint-Étienne supporters' anthem,
"Allez les Verts", singer Monty was born Jacques Bulostin in Chezal-Benoît
(Cher) on February 18, 1943. A soccer fan from childhood, he won an inter-school
tournament and hesitated to pursue a career in the sport, eventually opting for
music. Trained as a pianist at the Conservatoire, he passed the Sacem exam and
signed with the Barclay label in 1963. Under the name Monty, he recorded some 15
super singles and an album of the same name until 1969, including the hits "Il a
