Mohini Dey is an Indian bassist known for her work in jazz, fusion, and metal. A
child prodigy, she began taking bass lessons seriously at age six under the
guidance of her father, Sujoy Dey, a renowned bassist and studio musician, while
her mother, Romia Dey, is a classical singer. By age 10, Mohini had become a
professional musician, performing with artists such as Zakir Hussain, Allah
