Modern Romance, a British pop band from England, was formed in 1980 by Geoffrey
Deane and David Jaymes, who had previously been part of Leyton Buzzards. Their
early singles "Modern Romance" (1980) and "Tonight" (1981) were unsuccessful,
leading to a shift towards a Latin-American dance style. This change resulted in
the hit single "Everybody Salsa," which reached number 20 in the UK in summer
