Milton Ager was an American composer and a prominent songwriter during the 1920s
and 1930s. He began his career as a song plugger before moving to New York City
in 1914, where he worked as an arranger and composed music in association with
Pete Wendling. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War I in the Morale
Division, he returned to songwriting and scored his first major hit in 1918 with
“Everything Is Peaches Down in Georgia,” written with lyricist Grant Clarke for
