Mike Richmond
Mike Michael Richmond, born 26 February 1948 in Philadelphia, United States, is
an American jazz bassist who began on guitar before switching to bass in his
early teens. After studying at Temple University under Edward Arian and Jimmy
Garrison, he performed with Stan Getz, Jack DeJohnette, Horace Silver, Joe
Henderson, Lee Konitz, Hubert Laws, Franco Ambrosetti, Gil Evans, Art Farmer,
Woody Herman and George Gruntz. Richmond’s first leader releases included Dream
